I love what this fourm has turned into, but I wanted to raise a point, has anyone looked at the big difference between bmx and mtb riders, first off let me say this is not specific in any way but what I personally found in my experiences, but bmx riders dont care what kind of bike they ride so much as long as it works and looks half decent we are happy, mtb riders seem to want there bike to cost more and be better looking with more expensive parts(this does not portain to all mtb riders but most) I personnaly enjoy riding bmx more its a different atmosphere, bmx riders care about the tricks and how things look and are more willing to help you learn, they will teach you anything you almost anything they can. there also seems to be a lot less parent sponsored kids riding bmx, to many mtb riders believe money can make them bike better, also I wanted to say one last thing, who cares what someone says about your bike its yours not theres ride it how you like, after all its yours not the rich kids on pb

you have to realize that there is more than one design of bike in MTB, whereas in BMX theres only one design you see in the frame. bmxer's just look for a steel or cro-mo frame and its just so simple to build a bmx. in mtb, there are twice as many manufacturers for bikes and components. as i notice with bmx, a lot of the paint jobs on bmx bikes are done at home. with mountain bikes, frames are a lot more expensive and harder to reverse if you mess up on them. just my input on that.

MTBer's are very helpfull to i notice, i haven't really been on any BMX forums since i dont ride bmx. money doesn't matter in biking. if you have the dough to buy a nice bike, go for it, if your a little low on cash, find what you can, you find that you can adapt to any bike easily and progress even if its a crappy bike.there are so many MTBer's out there that have crappy bikes and are really good, but they refuse to adapt to a nicer bike. if youve got the skill, then most likely you dont need the kick-ass bike.

yes i do realize this thats why i said that it was what i have noticed and it was apersonal preferance, money does matter some what, the guy whos parents support him but not with cash, who has to work at a crappy part time job to pay for his bike is going to apriciate his bike a lot more then the kids whos parents say heres a 2000 dollar bike do with how you please. also i never said mtbers werent helpful i said i find bmx riders to be more helpful.

Kyle,

Exactly. Every year between November and March this place gets progressively worse and you find that people get more agitated as the winter wears on. Then once the bikes get back out there, everything settles down again.

To those saying the old forum was better, you're romancing the past. I must say that this version and the people we have on here are overall better. The features and abilities on this site don't even compare to the original version. There are a few folks that don't come around any more but there have been more than enough quality members to fill those spots.

Keep doing that, most of the "knowledgeable" members on this site started out doing that. Asking stupid questions and trying their best to answer questions. All that really matters is that you learn as you go.

Not everything is in the existing threads (those were created, too, just like these!), and if it is, there's not always enough information. You don't have to read the threads that you don't want to read. Just try to understand.
