Honestly, I would test one out but knowing RST, I wouldn't buy one.

ya but, you have to understand anything under the space is decent for xc, but they actually produced an amazing fork(Space) like ive already said the photo's of the snapped one's were of the prototype 2007's and 06's. The 08 non proto's have a very low breaking rate.
I am pretty sure that RST sent out a statement that the fork that broke at Super Sessions was a 2008/2009 prototype.
Everything breaks, time is a major factor. Over time, whether it be very soon or very long, RST fork tend to be shit compared to other brands. Can't beat the price in the short run, can beat it in the long run.

have you ever ridden one? have you ever owned anything besides a argyle or a dj1? i know people that have switched from a 409 to a Space.[/Quote]
View my pictures, I don't have an argyle or a DJ1. Not sure what you are talking about there.
I will never run an argyle by choice, unless its argyle lowers on pike uppers. I would go DJ1, ONLY IF I could get it cheaper then a Pike or Velvet and I doubt I could get a fork cheaper then what I can get a Velvet for. Which is by the way, probably my next fork if my Pike fails anytime soon.
Also I have never said anything about the Space directly. No I haven't ridden one, nor do I want to any time soon. I was talking about RST in general. Typically, RST's are cheap in a couple ways; price and quality.

my friends rst is shit the compression knob is broken and the fork overall feels like a rigid fork, i would say that anything thats not the highest quality of rst is basically crap
