the rebuild is still ongoing... had a severe leak problem with the shivers...oil was leaking out from the footnut.... had to purchase 2 x NOS footnuts from Poland.... appears to have sorted the leak.... just a new chain to fit along with gear cable and a rear brake bleed... and all should be good to rock...

My Youngest lad's first foray into downhill, he was using the Trek Session 10 fitted with 2001 Marzocchi Shiver DC's, this was down at Innerleithen trails on Monday 21st June (summer solstice)... at 33 years of age he is now hooked.... next trip is Fort William WC track on 12th July..

Hi Guys!

I decided to build up my Session 10 and found out I do not have a rear spring for the Revox, so I need to order one.
What spring rates are you using (and what is your weight)?

I searched this thread but couldn't find much info... I remember I had a 250lbs spring that was waaaay too soft and I am not sure whether to get a 300 or 350 (fully kitted I am at ~190lbs).

Hi Bud,

I am using a 450lb rear spring, I weigh in around the 12-13st mark.. I did try a 350lb spring once but I found that the rear end kept bottoming out when riding the WC track at Fort William... I find the 450lb spring fits the bill for me.... my Son is now using my old Trek Session 10 and I had to fit the 350lb spring as the 450lb made the rear end way to stiff and harsh for him...and he weighs about 10.5st soaking wet......LOL , bear in mind that the spring size is xxxlb x 3.5"

Hope this helps.....

Thanks a lot!

What sag are you running with the 450lbs spring?
I ordered a 350lbs spring, hopefully it will work... Normally I'd prefer to wait until the bike is all built up and then order a couple of different springs to test out, but it is going to take at least a few more weeks and in this market, I am not sure whether or not those will be available anymore - the 350 I got was the last one I could find in here... crazy.

When I bought the Session 10 back in ~2011 I remember I was able to get 35% sag with a 250 spring, but I was just a hair over 170lbs back then.
