I may get it just for use at Diablo this summer. One bike rental and 1 day pass makes it so it pays for itself

You're talking to Canadians who aren't exactly familiar with the areas over there other than the huge places that hold World Cup events. I think you have to be more specific. Maybe make a list or something of lift assisted parks or something as you’re more familiar with the areas there as opposed to someone across the pond.

OK - Scottish people correct me but i think these are the only places with uplifts in Scotland - Fort William; Innerleithen; Ae forest; Laggan Wolftrax; and Glencoe. im not sure of any others but please add to my list fellow countrymen Razz these and any others which fellow scottish pb users highlight are the ones we'd like discounted please Wink

there's absolutely no point in anyone in Britain becoming a member, cos no discounts from shops or off of lift passes etc are available near to where we live Frown the plus sign shud be a small red box with a p, which appears next to a persons name ON THEIR PROFILE ONLY because anyone who doesnt have it feels cheap, and it seems like the plus people are showing off. i want a membership to get the extras, but please make it worth my while and get shops and bike centres in Britain to cooperate

The majority of the people probably won't have it. No need to feel cheap. If the old site is doing it for you, why spend money on something you won't use. That seems like a real waste of money. They are expanding the perks to include things in the UK. It just takes time for shops and resorts to get on board with the program. It is only a matter of time before there are benefits like the ones in Canada and the US in the UK. I haven't come across any posts where Plus members are saying "oh I'm better than you because I have a membership." Even if they did, why would it matter? A membership does not increase one’s depth of knowledge of something bike related. If you like the site benefits as well as the Road Trip benefits, buy it. If you don’t like either, don’t buy it. This is not a mandatory item and not buying it does not deter or inhibit the usability of the website.
thats because the only people who have premium are the MODs pretty much, give it time.

and another thing i forgot to metion. Why fix it if it ain't broke?

Lots of users are signing up for it and getting the benefits. It's not for everyone but it's an option for those that want it.

It's about choice. You don't need to have it, or get it, but if you want to, you can. Simple.

People get it for many reasons.
1. Some, because they can use the card locally to save money
2. Some, because they want some of the features
3. Some, purely to support the development of pinkbike
4. Some, for all of the above

Cwmcarn/Cwmdown
Llangollen
Fort William
UKBP
Aston Hill
Glentress
Forest of Dean

Just a few of the uplift services that a lot of the people in the UK would find handy to have a discount.

People here are always thinking about themselves constantly.
Those of you saying this is a cashgrab etc, the problem is everything in modern society is a cash grab that's how life works. If I were the owner of this website, and I put in as much time as i'm sure these people do to provide you people with a service I'd hope to get something in return. It's a great site, it has lots of programming involved which costs money. It costs money to host it. It costs money for a domain. Sure there is some advertising funds but hey these guys work freaking hard to keep this site up and running as well as it does. If Pinkbike was yours and you put all of your time into it, would you not do the same thing? I understand some people don't have 30$ to put out and that's fine! It's still free. Doesn't mean you need to bitch about other people who want to contribute. I'm definitely considering this. You pay 10$ a person to see a movie for an hour. How many hours do you spend on pinkbike? Does it teach you things? Does watching twilight teach you anything? No.
Pinkbike is a great website so if you feel like it do it. That little plus isn't a bad thing unless you start making it one by saying things that make you seem better then others.
