So I've just started having this sorta frustrating problem with my totem. If it's left for a little while (like 5 minutes), it really stiffens up and only uses 15 or 20% of the travel where it's still as plush as it would normally be. To get it back working again, the fork needs to be cycled through 2 or 3 times. Anyone else having this problem?

maybe the lower leg oil is dry or too light.
try to put some fresh oil in the lower first.

Will do. You can replace the oil through the 2 little screws at the bottom, right?

yes you can. but i much prefer doing it by dismantling the lower leg.
you can clean the seal while the lower is apart from the the upper.

I'm considering changing my Lyrik from 160 to 170 for the upcoming DH season.

The frame is a 2012 enduro. I'll be riding primarily Northstar.

Anyone had experience with that setup?

Not to mention thoroughly cleaning all the old oil out with a dowel and rag.

|Hey All,

I just took apart my 2009 Solo air Totem. I cannot find anything on the internet for this fork. at all. Sram website has removed anything pertaining to the 2009 fork. I cannot even find oil levels. Some say it is 137ml, others 200ml. Regardless, can anyone confirm that this is the correct arrangement of components for the Solo Air spring?

Thanks for your help!!

The internals of the Totem were never changed to my knowledge. 2009 solo air internals were the same as 2013 I think.

the internal negative spring assembly is longer on the 2010 and newer, and the top seal looks thicker as well.

Yeah from 2010 they have new internals on both sides (damper side gets rid of the rebound tube IIRC). And yes that photo is correct (for pre 2010).

Oil-wise, 2007-2009 is 137ml in damper, 2010+ is 203ml or something I think.

My fork is a 2012. 203cc is right for the RC2DH. My apologies for talking out of my arse about them never changing the internals.
