18/15 is probably the most common for 26: wheels. 18/12 for 20".

I run 2:1 on 26" for street trials if that helps. no competition riding.

depends on if you run with a freehub or front freewheel. 18:15, 18:14, 22:16, 22:17, 22:18 seems to be popular for 26". slightly harder gears for 24"

sounds good. i'll try working with something like that. yeah, im running rear freehub, pretty much all regular mountain bike parts, so the smallest i could really go in the front is 24

24:18 is quite good for a 24" bike Smile not sure on 26 maybe 24:16 for 26" wheel

oh alright. right now im using 22:13, which is a little softer than i'd like, but until i find maybe a 12 rear cog or something ill put that on

jeez 22:13 is reaaly high for 26" wheel, unless you have huge muscles, go for 22:16 or 22:17 on 26" wheel

really? it seemed pretty reasonable for me, i just double checked my bike, and i got a 22 in front and 13 in the rear...by the way, you are talking about the teeth on the cogs and not the actual gearing ratios...right? haha im gonna feel like an idiot if you were talking about the ratios instead of teeth Facepalm

yeahh im talking about teeth, ratios is the size of one sprocket or chainring in relation to the other, i .e when people convert their xc bike to singlespeed its usually 32 front and 16 rear which gives a 2:1 ratio since the chainring has double the number of teeth of the sprocket. so yeah 22:13 is unusual for trials, go for something lower
