They also didn't specify that you have to do anything gnarly at Rampage. To me that sounds like showing up at Rampage and building a chill flow trail down the mountain is fair game

Scor 4060, Medium w/ SD Ultimate
$1250 USDAwesome bike looking for it's next home. I had hopes to rebuild this bike back up but life got in the way and I'm passing it along. Bike has normal scuffs and scratches but nothings major. The largest scratch being on the non-drive side of the chainstay as shown in the photo. I had a custom machined stainless steel pivot bolt made as I was having issues with the stock aluminum bolt. The shock is in the shorter stroke version so the bike is currently in the 140mm travel setting and has barely been ridden, I mostly rode this bike with a Vivid air. I rode this bike in all it's configurations and it really can be setup for anything from bike park riding to something much more pedal friendly for long days. It also looks cool as hell. Reverse Components Launches Machete Stem Line
As a machinist, I love seeing nicely machined parts. I also like seeing well used machine tools. However, I would never put my finished parts randomly on part of the machine covered in chips and I don't get why these companies do this for product photos.

I too think back on the good ole days when trail bikes were commonly around or under 30lbs. As someone that pedals a lot I wouldn’t mind bikes getting lighter.
But the sport has changed and I think the added weight increase is warranted and worthwhile. I think a good example is all the younger kids doing things on trail bikes that’s arguably DH bike territory. Any time I go to a bike park there’s usually just as many trail bikes as DH bikes. that might just be out of practicality of ownership, but I think it also speaks to what trail bikes are capable of as well as what’s becoming expected that we can do on them.
On average I feel like I break less stuff too, and while I may not be as gnarly as kids these days, I certainly enjoy not having to worry about these things as much

I could at least hide in shame at the back of the pack of the XC race while they focus on the race leaders. DH race it's all eyes on you when it's your turn
