alright i had a stupid attack and decided i was going to take the boxxers on my marin for the hell of it about 9 months ago. when i got it off. i decided well thats cool and tried putting it back together and my little brother had messed with the pieces in the downstem (berrings, spacers, ect.) and took them out of the order i had placed them in from.
its been sitting in my shop since then, neglected from frustration. now i want to ride her again.

Is there any diagrams of a downstem assembly for boxers? or marin. im not sure which it would be for

thanks ahead of time for help

Take it to your local bike shop.

lay all of the parts out on paper towels ect as without pics people won't be able to tell what you have and won't be able to help to their fullest.

My bad on the first post...thought you were talking about disassembling the fork.

What headset is that? Top right corner is the upper cup and the top left two are the top cap and bolt. Middle top looks like it's a headtube spacer. It's hard for me to see where the other pieces go as there isn't a bottom cup in any of the pictures. Since you have it and it's right there, maybe you can have a look at this and hopefully you can make some sense of it. If not then your best bet would probably be to gather up all the pieces and take it to the shop.

thank you a whole lot. i think i have it put together i just went off the diagram you gave me. and got it fitting alot better than i had when i tried before. but there is still a little bit if wobble like just about as much as loose crack right as you start to feel it. barly there at all but still there. ill continue to play with it and see if i can figure out what i need to change or do. :/ but thank you alot got me alot further than i could have done on my own.

Remember to tighten the bolt on the top cap before you tighten the stem bolts. That's a common mistake that a lot of people make that causes that little bit of crack/wobble.

In this pic you have a stem top cover seals and the silver part is a compression ring.

In this pic the bearing is the wrong way up but it also goes into the pic you have marked as down tube,it isn't a down tube it's your top tube, the black part resting on the bearing goes on top of the bearing when the bearing is in the upper head set cup.

In this pic there are seals and they need putting back into the head set itself and there should be a little groove for them to fit in.

The head tube part in the above pic should kinda look like this when the bearing is in place.
