I've just changed my 3x9 setup on my 10' Lapierre Spicy for a 1x9 setup.. But I need something to keep my chain from falling of the chainring so I'm looking for either a chain tensioner or a chain guide so what would you prefer? I'm not looking for a set of both as my budget isn't that big.. I've thought about $50 or so..
My outer plate is a Race Face which is totally flat - same space between the chainring and the outer plate than there would be between two chainrings.. The crankset is a Shimano SLX..

- Just one more question, does anyone know if Lapierre Spicy 2010-models are made with ISCG or ISCG 05?
Hello, I'm thinking of changing 3x9 to 1x10 also on Spicy, 11-36 casette and 36t chain ring. Is it enough either chain tensioner or a chain guide or do I need both? What are your experiences, what do you recommend. Thanks!
chain guide for your situation. you need something to keep the chain from dropping your front ring, while more tension will help the problem, a chainguide will solve it.
