So, my 29er is pretty heavy. I bought it new earlier this spring and was wondering what is the quickest way to make it drop a couple of pounds. I obviously can't do anything about the frame, but what about the fork or wheels? Thanks for the help yall.

Ya just throw some 26" wheels on there and you'll drop a lot of weight

wheels wheels wheels! One of the most easily felt performance upgrades is in the wheels since it is rotating mass. Not only will the bike feel lighter, it will accelerate faster and handle better.
I upgraded the wheels and crank on my wife's Cdale 29er and dropped 3 pounds with minimal investment of $$ and a huge jump in how the bike feels on the trail.

Specs and budget? Without them we can't really tell you a whole lot...

Wheels should be your first upgrade anyway.

O+
