Thoughts on this lens? Was going to get it with VC (Vibration Compensation/Image Stabilizer), but have read the non-VC version is much sharper . . .

Anyone have any experience with it? Compared to similar lenses? For like $400, it seems like a good buy from the pictures I've seen.

Thanks, Kyle.

Hey, I have the non-VC version of this lens and it's awesome and I have never felt the need for VC when using it.

Cheers

Picked it up a month or so ago and love it! It gets my recommendation if a person is after a great bang-for-the-buck general lens. Replaced my kit lens and haven't even used my 50 1.8 since I got this thing.

How do you like the build quality? I've only ever had Canon and Sigma lenses.

I like it a lot. I'm very pleased. Really wish I had a better body to utilize the true quality of the lens.

Plus the 7 year warranty doesn't hurt either . . . lol
