Interesting. Aren’t the Deores limited to organic pads only? That’s the reason it strikes me as a bit of an odd spec choice.

Prolly why he has XTR calipers would be my guess.

Oh, calipers are XTR too. Gotcha.

I want an XTR cassette- that’s an ace smart money drivetrain combo he’s running.

Interesting cranks and chainring. Does anyone know who makes these?

Might be a KA engineering ring?

Edit - Just realised whattheheel 3D printed them. Nice and definitely niche. I like.

and the grips too - absolutely ruined a sexy ride

Agreed, grips look shit.

However, carbon inserted into a ti mold combo? Now that's interesting; as is the stem and custom(?) ti spacer too?

Lots of sexy and innovative bits, but the bike doesn't come together as a whole.

Nope, Fabris is the owner and in charge of that, I just reposted his post.

Why would deore be limited to organic pads? I know that the cheapo rotors are too soft for them but I can't see why a caliper would be incompatible?

There simply weren’t any metallic pads produced for the Deore caliper, at least the m6000 era. The 2020+ M6100 / M6120 Deores might be different- not really sure.

Edit: It looks like the non-servo wave “XTR Race” levers are no longer a thing? Maybe that’s why is went with Deore levers, no servo wave.

O+

False.

They all Servo-Wave.

You can also get XTR BR9100 in non-wave EV mount. https://bike.shimano.com/en-US/product/component/xtr-m9100/BL-M9100.html

He probably just wanted black levers.

EDIT surprised he didn't go for SLX as they are all-black as well, maybe jsut an availability thing. Why spend more money on essentially the same product?
