Tad late on replying to last nights posts.

It's the fuel price more than anything and also I can barely insure the 206 a truck would probably land me in a lot of debt.

As for the 206, I see no point spending any major money on it, I'll save that money for an E30 or a moto.

Merc dies while running, I've replaced the fuel filter, ignition switch, and the cap and rotor which helped but it still happens occasionally, what should I do next? (Aside from scrapping and/or setting it on fire)

Have you tried blasting it with piss

It's probably Bosch k jetronic. Search merc/saab/volvo forums as they all used the same systems in the early-mid 80's. Have you checked fuel pressure, spark right after it dies, battery voltage, etc?

O+

It sounds like you think the problem is fuel rather than electrical. Have you been able to tell whether it's running lean or rich before it dies? Have you checked your alt?

the bmw had the same problem, i cleaned out the throttle body, then cleaned the maf and that fixed it.
the second time it did it, turned out to be the air filter that needed a good clean.
