Well 3/8ths works out at 9.5mm roughly. I couldn't guarantee it would fit but if I were you i'd see if you can get a vernier calliper and measure the dropout and see if that matches up. Not come across this before, but will ask my bike mechanic friend tomoro what he thinks.

The big problem will be fitting a nut into the recession for the skewer if the axle does fit. You can find bolt on 9mm axles... they tend to stiffen up a QR fork a little bit.

well im trying to use this hub:http://www.danscomp.com/products-PARTS-HUBSFRONT/427043/Demolition_Bulimia_V2_Front_Hub.html with a 9mm suspension fork

For some reason your link wasnt working for me on my mobile. Had a look online and I'm still not sure by the pics. My friend runs an odyssey vandero 2 hub on his dirt jumper 3s with no bother. The vandero hub employs a 17mm hollow female axle with 2 3/8" male bolts that thread into the axle. Hope that helps.

Okay! Thanks guys! So any 3/8" axle should work with any 9mm fork? Or specific ones?

I've done it with a 24" bmx wheel (3/8" axle) in an older Marzocchi Bomber fork before.

I'll tell you what doesn't work though . . . 3/8" bolts on a 10mm rear axle.

Front ends are 9mm and rear ends are 10mm on a mountain bike then? (But the rear can take a 9mm axle too?) Cheers

Yes . . . Well, for the front you can have 9mm axle, or you can have 20mm hollow thru-axle (typical on Downhill and some DJ forks). Then there's also 15mm hollow thru axle, like on the FOX 831 dirt jumper fork.

For the rear, you would not run a 9mm axle in dropouts slotted for 10mm. It probably wouldn't matter if you did, once it's tightened down . . . but still, you have to think about what hub you're using. If it's a bmx hub, it will be 110mm spaced instead of 135mm spaced for mtb. Also, typically it would need to be a disc brake hub for most DJ mtb's.

Scroll through here and you'll get an idea of specs on parts. It's a catalog that most bike shops can order from.

yeah well i dont have to worry about the rear hub, im getting an NS capital 24" frame and its all spaced for bmx parts so the back hub will fit fine, just wondering about the front
