I currently have a set of 2007 fox 40 rc2. I am wanting to replace them with a set of 180mm single clamps of similar value (£300ish) but i am after a significant drop in weight... Just wanting to hear everyones thoughts/ suggestions .

An air coil fork will be the lightest. I recommend a Fox 36 float 180

I know some Lyriks can be used at 180mm of travel ... and htey're "light" (2.1kg). Might need some internal mod to change the travel though, and I don't know how Smile

But for your budget of 300ish, not many choices ... used Totem air (2.7kg), maybe the Suntour Durolux (2.4 or 2.5kg I think) which is cheap, even brand new, and isn't too bad for the price.
