do a custom build. buy a frame and build it up how you would like it...way more fun and cheaper than a new bike

Custom builds are far more expensive then a complete bike unless you're buying cheap second hand parts, in which case you might as well buy a second hand bike. You'll get more for your money.

Check out the nukeproof scalp , you can pick up 2011/12 frames pretty cheap now and they are amazing bikes.

dh is expensive. its sucks but its the truth. think about parts that will last because maintenance is the thing that will cost. IMO giant glory would be a good choice. cheap, good value and decent bikes (as far as i know)

Status ~ Base model is $2500

Glory 2013 ~ Base model is $3000

Norco Aurum 2013 ~ Base model is $3000

Or buy used.

buy used or build from used parts - much easier to choose your budget

Also remember that retail price is a guide.. My 2013 status 2 retails at $3300 I bargained them down to $2900 and if you go for last years model you can bargain even more.

I know that it is an expensive sport, but I was looking for cheaper solution. I am thinkin about the status now.

I am done with used parts. My body paid much bigger price that i would for new ones. Wink

Bdw i've seen vitus dominer 2 on crc for insane price, and I'm thinkin about that as my last solution. Has anyone had any experiences?

For local trails and most of the dh trails in Croatia 180 milimeters of travel would be enough.

Sorry for my english Smile
