Interesting seeing someone come off a boutique brand like SC and loving the trance.

Really nice aggressive build there.

Reference the pike service spoke to TF tuned in the UK and they normal fill oil with the forks horizontal and the forks just over the seals.

Here's my 2017 built up from an Adv 0 frame. I demoed one and I was blown away how it accelerated thru the rocks and made braking bumps and hack disappear. I upped the rear travel to just shy of 150mm with the aftermarket 185x55 shock that Giant sells for the Trance thru SRAM. THIS is the bike that Giant should have released. Still pedals amazing and plows thru the rough stuff with a ton of confidence. I have crushed my fastest Strava times on this bike that I set with my Hightower. LOVE this bike!!

I'm 6'1", 180lbs.
Large @ 29lbs
SixC 780 bars with 50mm Spank stem
Pike RCT3 160 w/ custom decals and one and half tokens.
RS SD 185x55 w/ two spacers
XT stop and go with 180/180 and 32/46
XX1 cranks
I9 Enduro S 30.5mm internal wheels w/ custom decals and Huck Norris insert in rear
DHF DC 2.5 front / Minion SS rear
150 Lev Integra

That could be tough with a Lifetime Warranty

That looks amazing! I assume there are no warranty issues going 160/150 for travel. This is pretty much exactly what I want to do, go a bit burlier and a bit more travel. I'd be starting from the '17 Advanced 2 frame.

Def not on the 150 rear since it's a shock option offered by Giant for the Trance. Giant's race teams run 160 forks, but I guess they can do that.

There's no way that I know of to increase the travel on the rear of the 2017 trances. You could with the 2014-16 but that's a bit janky.

really? I thought all Trances (2014-current) come with only 200x51mm shocks (140-mm travel) from the factory, not aware of a "150" travel option.

What kind of speed and jumps (height) you guys hit with your Trance bikes?
the amount of suspension one has isn't just for how much air they get. It also helps smooth out the ride and builds confidence on rocky technical sections. Look at dirt jumpers.

Yeah what's this 150mm rear shock option?!

Man that is a bummer! I was nervous last night that I did the same thing... I mashed mine hard, got a pinch flat and 2 other holes in the tire. I have looked 4 times now and can't find a crack though.

UPDATE: mine is also cracked. Shit.
