Hey everyone, got a 2015 trance 2 and putting a mattoc on it. Is anyone running a 160mm fork with the stock 200x51 shock? I thought I read earlier in this thread people advised getting a 200x57. Is it ok to run my stock shoc with a 160mm? I thought the SX did just that?

Nothing wrong with running 140 in the back and 160 up front. I think most people that have upgraded their front fork have gone with a larger volume rear shock so the bike can handle DH stretches better. Also the Float evo wasn't the greatest shock, so it might benefit you to swap it out eventually or get it custom tuned. Not a huge deal though, I think having a better fork is more important first, then you can sort out the shock later.

I am also looking into getting a 160mm pike and a monarch debonair plus for the spring. Can anyone comment on how the bike feels with 160mm of travel? Also, I will need the M/M tune on the monarch right (I am 160 lbs with gear)?

Looking for a new set of grips. Any recommendations?
Top of my list at the moment are the Renthal Kevlar push ons.

If you're getting push on grips, i would highly recommend cultxvans waffles. Tacky, good padding, not too thick.

Would recommend you get some safety wire to secure them in place, works a treat on mine:

I honestly really like the stock Giant grips. They are soft and tacky so I can get a good grip without gloves on and they reduce vibrations from the handlebars pretty well. They have a fairly wide outer diameter which I find comfortable to grip even on long rides.

Some other personal favorites: ODI Vans and Sensus Swayze/Disisdaboss

I personally love ESI grips. I have been using them for like 7 years now. They are 100% Silicone so they somewhat mold to your hand making them really comfortable. They actually absorb a good amount of the shock you can feel through the hands and I have never had any problem with them slipping.
