I'm getting ready to relocate in the next six months or so. I've been doing a fair bit of research and have been asking around on the topic. Where is the best bike scene at these days? I'm in to all forms of biking but really specialize in AM and DH. I am open for suggestions. I'm a fully certified mechanic with about 10 years of good hands-on experience. Of course I'd like to work in the service department of some lucky bike shop. So if anyone has an idea. Maybe a place you've been once, twice maybe a few times. Possibly someone lives in this place of serenity and could hook me up with a job??? If you happen to know where the bike God's are please let me know! I know him/her could be rewarded with many cold beers! Thanks guys! Again any information at this point would be great!

Dunno if it's the best, but Bellingham WA. http://www.ridegalbraith.com/Index.cfm good shuttles, close to Whistler and Steven's Pass bike park. 7 bike shops off the top of my head notably http://dropnzone.com/ http://fanatikbike.com/ http://www.transitionbikes.com/2014/Home.cfm year round riding, great breweries, great riding in the surrounding area, If you ski or snowboard Mount Baker has the world record for snow in a month and for a year. Just a good outdoor town.

As a whole: BC, on our side, and WA would probably be your best bets. IMO

North of Seattle, South of Canada.... You can find cheap housing with an easy commute to kickass hills to ride
