my bike has an octolink bottom bracket and mtb cranks i wanna swop these for the 3 piece 1's you see on bmx'ers like profiles is this a straight swop or do i need to get a certain type of bottom bracket for my frame?

I don't know what frame you have. But, assuming that it has a 73mm wide euro bb shell, then to run BMX Profile cranks, you need:
1) Profile bmx race crank arms (whatever length you want, but 175mm is typical)
2) 19mm X 6" spindle. (Note I mean 6" not 5.75")
3) BMX internal euro bb, like Odyssey or Profile
4) 53mm tube spacer . (Note this is NOT the typical 48mm wide tube spacer).


Profile BMX crank arms are designed for a 48-spline style spindle. Typically, you would use the 19mm spindle (although a fatter 22mm one exists). Therefore, you would want the BMX Euro bottom bracket designed for a 19mm spindle.

You may also need to buy the 6" spindle for mtb, rather than the 5.75" spindle for bmx frames.

Pick the correct tube spacer for your bb shell width:

Also 19mm is actually 3/4" If you try to fit a 19mm bearing on it you'll have issues.
