2017 Trek Slash
A horrible pick of my friend taking the 2017 Slash out for a spin @ Trek World.

And what were his thoughts?

Looks pretty bike park friendly to me...
Up until he rode it he was all about 27.5 and didn't like any 29ers he had tried. He loved the new Slash and has since changed his tune and told me he will be getting this bike in October.

2014 Slash with PLUS Tires. Fork is stock. Better clearance than a Carbine 29er the wheels were originally on. Smile
Also, I have a 0.5 degree offsetbushing on the lower eye. The BB is around 13.75in but with the plus tires with more sag when ridden, it's about equal to a 13.5 bb height, which was what it was when I had the offsetbushing installed, with the regular 27.5 tires (Vredestein Bobcat 2.35).

Guy's,

I'v'e scrolled back a few pages and not found what i'm looking for so i'm sorry if this has already been answered.

My 2012 Slash9 is about to get dusted off and ridden again but i want to change the rear shock to a monarch Plus RC3. Do i need to order special mounting hardware or will it fit with what i already have?
I also see loads of different sizes and compression ratios. I'll be using it for more extreme XC rather than DH type riding.

Thanks,

Nidge.

There is a specific tune and size for the Trek Slash. You will need mounting hardware for both the upper and lower. Bolts, bushings, etc.

how did you run the dropper housing? i see it goes to the hole in the tt. i dont like how they have one at the bottom of the seat tube that you have to run under the bb

I run a Fox Transfer external. I routed it through the front derailleur ports. I would suggest getting some guide pipe for the inner cable as the cable end fits into the dropper mech on the post, (unlike the rest that have the end in the remote lever) and it is a right pain trying to thread it through the top tube because there is a cable stop nearest the cockpit.
