Hi I could use your opinions on a light, fast and narrow rear XC tire for a 29'er.I ride forest/hills trails not to many rocks or roots I'm have my eye on these 2 : Continental Race King 29x2.0 http://www.bike24.com/1.php?content=8;navigation=1;product=67389;page=3;menu=1000,2,103,212;mid=4;pgc=0
I read pretty much only good things about Race King and i like it it's light it seems like a fast tire and i was almost certain it's what i'm looking for but then i saw Vredestein Spotted Cat and...now i kinda like that one too Smile ). I only found one review on the Spoted Cat and that guy said it's an excelent tire and it does pretty good in the wet to unlike the Race King. So i'm torn between these 2. Did any of you used the Spoted Cat? For the front i think i'm gonna us the Vredestein Black Panther XTRAC Tubeless Ready http://www.bike24.com/1.php?content=8;navigation=1;product=76338;page=1;menu=1000,2,103,212;mid=213;pgc=0
I would also look at Racing Ralph, they roll fast but still have decent corner knobs.
I don't want anything wider than 2.0 now i'm using 2.1 and i want to try something more narrow. I had Rocket Ron's and i was disappointed by the huge number of punctures i had...Rocket Ron's and Racing Ralph's seem so fragile.
I'm going to use Black Panther on he front which is wider and has bigger knobs for cornering...the back tire just follows the line. Now i'm using a Kenda SB8 on the back and i have no problem on cornering. I don't ride in extreme muddy conditions
