I need to buy a new handlebar for my bike. I am from Portugal and I have around 60 euros to spend.
2 handlebars have caught my attention, the Funn Fatboy and the Funn Fatboy Supreme, I really dont know what is the big difference between the 2. Is the difference in the weight ?

I will buy it from Probikeshop

The link is already configured to search for handlebars up to 60 euros, please visit this shop and recommend me something that is worth the money.
I dont care about colors Smile

There's three things you need to be concerned with when buying bars. Length, rise/sweep and clamp.

The length is personal preference - find what you were running and go longer or shorter. You can cut down a bar that's too long, but can't lengthen a short one, bear that in mind.

Rise/sweep tell you how high and far towards you the bars will go. You could stick to what you know or try something different.

The clamp diameter is the size of the bar at the stem. This needs to be the same as your old bar, or you will have to change your stem.

Once you have those three sorted, all aluminum bars are pretty much all the same aside from imperceivable stiffness, a couple of grams and the all important badge. The fatboy will be as good a bar as the rest, but you could probably drop down to a ritchey wcs or raceface respond etc without noticing a difference.

I am pretty sure this is the stem I have http://www.togoparts.com/items/images/item-1125905421.jpg

But I will comfirm when I get home.
I think I will go for a lower rise because the one I have right now is too high

I just don know alot about handlebars, which brands make the best and etc...
Also this is the first time I buy something for my bike through the internet. I have just discovered chain reaction cycles ( I am sure everyone knows this site already), but I really dont know what to look for in handlebars, I just know I want something between 15mm and 30mm rise. They have a lot of promotions going on right now and I would like to get the best handlebar for the price

Truvativ Boobar
Truvativ Stevie Smith Blackbox
Truvativ Danny Hart Blackbox

I´d take any of those over the Funn ones any day.
There´s allready been some things said about rise and sweep, but as long as you don´t have any specific needs and were happy with your current bar, then just look up it´s specifications on the net and buy the one that matches those the best.

I think I have narrowed down to this ones after searching almost every handlebar in CRC:
Nukeproof Warhead
Truvativ BlackBox Stevie Smith
Ragley Wiser
Deity Components Dirty30
Funn Fatboy
ANSWER Pro Taper 780 DH

My stem is the truvativ hussefelt 60mm with 31.8mm clamp.
My current handlebar has 35mm rise I think
I dont want something with less than 750mm

Loki87, why do you say that about Funn, do they have poor construction quality or something like that ?

Edit: Just found the Truvativ BlackBox Danny Hart on amazon and I really like the golden color + it fits my budget

Funn had some massive problems with cracked bars in the past. Apparently they have solved the problems, but they were never really a brand known for great quality. So, given all the option we have today, i´d rather just stay away from them. Truvativ parts however i have rocked for years and never had a problem with anything.
The Protaper is also a great quality handlebar that served me well for a long time.

Yes bang on about Funn. They are just cheap catalog stuff and their stems are also known to Crack.

I would recommend the truvativ-blackbox-stevie-smith-riser-bar or the Danny Hart version which has less rise, less width, more backsweep and is obviously carbon.

Both truvativ blackbox are made of AL-7050 alloy

I would disagree with that one. Switched from Superstar Highline to Race Face Atlas and stiffness was very perceivable. Same length mind you.

On a side note, Truativ Boobar is one awesome handlebar and i would recommend it wholeheartedly!

I've owned like 20 different bars and they all felt very different except for a few that had similar feeling. Now I have Boobar also.

I really like my Renthal Fatbars. Very strong, light, and color matches my stanchions. 780mm wide
