Ispec-b mount shifter on magura MT5 brakes

I have an ispec-b shifter and like the look of the new magura mt5 brakes but I would like to mount the shifter directly. Does anyone know of a way to do this?
Any help greatly appreciated.

If you don't have the original bracket I think you're out of luck! I'm waiting to hear back from Shimano on this exact question though and will report back with their answer.

I have read on another forum that the hope tech lever cover, item number hpsb 263 I think fits shimano shifters and also works with magura Mt brake levers. I have ordered one and will report back and post pics if it works.

OK, according to one of the moderators at STEC there is a cover assembly that you can purchase to go back to the traditional bar mount style, but it is not available for the newest i-Spec II (XT M8000 & XTR M9000).

edit: i've never seen this particular assembly for sale so I think you'd have to have your local bike shop special order it because i have no idea where to get it online.

How does it feel to use compared to a shimano brake and shifter setup. Been looking at the mt6 brakes and would want to do this.

So far I'm very impressed with my Magura mt5 brakes. They are hugely powerful and nothing like as grabby as reviews led me to believe. The shimano shifter/hope adaptor works well. Just got to tighten it up properly or it does have a little play but no complaints really. The hope adaptor really does just bolt straight on.

So are all the angles of a normal ispec b connection retained? Just want to be sure before I commit to buying some.
