[Quote="agrasso5567"]Anyone ride a Dune? Looking to get one this summer. That or a Giant Reign.
Also for the dune, I'm 170cm. Small or medium? I'm right on the border of the two[/go for the dune in medium, you'll love it ,one of the best suspension systems in the zero too .Quote]
Its going to replace my current freeride bike. I want something to rip the trails and also be able to handle jumps. My Sx trail is awesome until it has to climb. Doing more all mountain than free ride at the moment.
I'm looking at buying a Mondraker Foxy carbon, and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me whether you can get a dropper post all the way down into the seat tube on a medium frame? Thanks.

Hi there. Depends on your height, reach, stack and inseam. I'm on M Foxy and Dune carbon. using a 20mm stem on Dune tho. Alloy Dune 2017 with 170mm fork, i'll go with S.
I recently bought a Dune. Mondraker recommend 35% sag in the rear shock and to run the fork at something close to that. Seems crazy to me to run a Fox 36 at 35% sag when Fox recommends 15-20%. Any advice?

It does seem high but I'm pretty sure Mondraker just designed their suspension that way. Maybe just start at 20-25 and work your way up until you hit the sweet spot?
i bought a mondraker vantage in 2015 but due to an ongoing knee injury i haven't got to ride it much,am due to undergo surgery soon so will be able to ride again.
i'm looking to upgrade my forks as the stock ones are not the best but i'm struggling to find out what type will fit it it i.e tapered 1 1/8 or 1.5 etc this is stuff i don't understand yet.

i'm a bit of a newbie so be gentle

Tapered just means that your steer tube is 1.5" at the bottom and 1 1/8" at the top. You could mix and match if you get a specific headset but you're better off just shopping for a tapered fork to make life easier. Some forks have straight steer tube 1 1/8" the whole length, thats not what you want. If you buy used make sure the steer tube tapered and also long enough for your frame since often times they are cut down to fit right.

Oooh I see so your bike fork is currently a straight tube. Your frame is tapered so you have the option of putting in a tapered fork with a different headset.
So what you should look for is a fork with a straight tube (1 1/8"). As far as the type of fork It really depends on riding style. The higher end models of your bike came with the Fox 32 Float CTD Evolution, or the Rockshox Sektor Silver solo air. Both 140mm travel.
I personally like Fox suspension more. If it was my bike I would put a fox 34 float 140mm straight tube 1 1/8" only because I like beefier forks and I tend to abuse my bikes. Just double check the front axle before you buy something. See if you have a quick release, 15mm or 20mm thru axle. I'm pretty sure it's a 15mm thru axle.

right i sort of get it now i could fit either but would have to change my headset if i went tapered? i believe i only have 9mmQR but i read you can get 15mm-9mm reducer or is that not a good idea?
