I am a hardtail nut! I love hardtails and I think they are a blast. I have a 2016 Diamondback Line with an upgraded for and have ridden it in New Jersey where it very rocky and technical and in places where others wouldn't dare with a hard. Lately I have been skiing at resorts that also have bike parks built (Windham Mountain, Killington, Mountain Creek, Okemo) and have been thinking "I bet I could ride my hardtail here." I do understand that on the very techy trails I would probably die though, so my question is do you guys think that hardtails have a place in bike parks?
i think on flow trails or jump trails yes, but braking bumps will destroy you, as will any serious tech. i have seen people riding dj bikes on a line so ya i guess, but otherwise no
You can ride a hardtail bike any where that full squish can, the only difference is that you will feel every bump. So the faster you go on a hardtail on really rough trails, the bouncier the bike will be seeing as it has no rear suspension to absorb the hits/bumps.
If I am remembering correctly, back in the very early days of Rampage (in the days of Bender) there was a guy who competed in Rampage on a hardtail.
I myself used to ride all the double black tech lines in Whistler on a hardtail Norco 250 with a Monter T.
