My Transition Patrol came with the RC version...

Going to send it back to warranty as the compression dial doesn't do anything....

I'm thinking about installing the luftkappe or the MRP Ramp Control Cartridge.

Compression... still working it out

I'm thinking of trying to drop 10psi & running higher LSC to help it stay higher in its travel. With 2 tokens I'm not getting to bottom it out anymore.

Hi RNeves, does your LCS dial have clicks when you rotate it? If so, how many? And is it hard/sticky to rotate?

My compression dial has 11 clicks I think... And they are not sticky at all, they are soft clicks.

I was thinking that my compression was broken, because the difference between full open and full closed is very small, but I read somewhere that it is normal on yhe 2018 RC Lyrik.

Thinking about upgrading to the 2019 air spring instead of the Luftkappe though.

Mine initially was very sticky and it was almost impossible to rotate. I tried loosening the top screw it somehow fixed the issue. I got 11 clicks as well. So I suspected that the issue was caused by an over tightened top screw. However, for some weird reason that I don't know, after I put back the compression top cap back and the tightened the screw just enough that I have soft clicks (the same as you described) and that is easy for me to rotate, after a couple of hours (for example overnight) when I tried to check it becomes sticky again and hard to rotate. I tried it a couple of times and the issue still comes back. Have you experience this issue with your fork? Mine is also 2018 Lyrik RC OEM version. Please note that I have not yet put the fork on my bike. I just recently bought it.

And yes, for the RC version, it is normal and it doesn't have lock out. Open and firm still have the same full travel. It only changes the initial compression. I did some test on the fork and when it is open (fully counter clockwise), the beginning of the stroke during compression is a bit softer. Whereas the firm (fully clockwise), the initial stroke was a bit firmer. You can only feel the difference when you compress the fork slowly. When you do that, you are simulating small bumps which is LSC adjustment is intended to. You wont feel the difference when you compress the fork fast or encounter a square bumps or big hits. To have this adjustment, I think you need RCT3.

Sounds like you have an issue with your fork then... I didn't have to mess with the screw of my compression lever.

About the compression setting, It doesn't only control the first part of the travel, it does control the whole travel, by limiting the ammount of oil that passes through the LSC needle during compression, while on a large impact, the shimstack opens to bypass that needle and let more oil through.

The difference is that you only have a fine adjustment of the LSC. On the RCT3 you have 2 adjustments of the LSC, one fine adjustment for the open mode, and another coarse adjustment that has 3 positions.

When I bought this fork, I thought that the 11 clicks had a bigger difference between them, and they don't.

I'm finding that the LSC seems to have bigger jumps in the first 5 clicks from open then the rest of the adjustments

I'm now at 2 tokens and 80psi. Still a 95kg lump!
LSC is wound fully anti-clock wise, so 0?
Rebound ~3-5 clicks from closed.

I was thinking about it... but now with the 2019 air spring, I think that waiting for a comparison between both is the best option...

RN did you ever get this solved? I just bought a used 2018 Lyrik and the compression dial doesn't make any noticeable difference (fully open vs. fully closed).

hi guys, I put a Push ACS3 spring kit in mine. it feels kinda like riding my CRF450 down the trail, I love it. also put a Push 11.6 shock on it. worth every penny
