I'm debating if its worth it in investing into a Works Angleset headset to slacken my headtube angle on my 2018 Intense Carbine some. Any other 2018 Carbine riders out there invested and ride theirs with such?

I'm thinking of getting one for my Recluse I'm assuming they use the same size headset?

If anyone knows the size I would need please chime in.

Yo, if y'all haven't figured out the sizing yet, the manuals for your bikes are on https://intensecycles.com/pages/bikemanuals

I just ordered my works headset.... should be here soon, but mine is a 2014 so it's got that 68 degree head angle just begging for a slackset. EC44/EC49 fits mine, and I bet fits yours as well.

Right side entire view.

SO! After riding a Transition Sentinel for a couple of months and not having any luck for all that time in selling my Intense Carbine. Anyways long story short; I sold my Transition and since I still have my Intense. I intend to now build up my Intense again and continue riding it. But, with a few key differences that will drastically change how it handles while on the trail.

2018 Intense Carbine frame size large

Pro build with some changes.

2019 Fox 36 Performance Grip Fork with 44mm offset
ENVE M930 rims laced to DT Swiss 240S boost 32H center-lock hubs
Maxxis Minion DHF/DHR Tire Combination 2.5" and 2.4" respectfully
SRAM Guide RS/RSC brake set with metallic brake pads and Shimano center-lock 203mm rotors
Rockshox Reverb 150mm dropper with Wolftooth Sustain Remote
Syntace 30mm length stem
ENVE HDH 790mm handlebars

&

Works 2 degree angleset headset

(I'd like to change out the Guide brakes for TRP Quadiem or SRAM Code R to have more stopping power, but with how much this ENVE wheelset is costing me its best to not upset my wife too too much.)

160 mm fork travel

65.5 degree headtube angle
1233 mm wheelbase
74 degree seattube angle
348 mm bottom bracket

2 degree angleset

160 mm fork travel

63.5 degree headtube angle
1250 mm wheelbase
74.25 degree seattube angle
342 mm bottom bracket

I picked up a 2019 Fox 36 with a 44mm offset from a local guy. Waiting on a few more items/components before this build will be able to ride. Waiting in the mail for my headset, front hub, and rims.

Very cool! Surprised your ST angle didn’t steepen up more? Make sure you post up pics, thanks for sharing ????

Rims arrived on Friday last week and dropped them off, along with everything else today to my local shop. Not sure when it'll be done and ready to ride but I'm hoping by the weekend I'll have a bike to ride.

I'm told my bike will be done and able to ride it tomorrow, hoping that's true and its not delayed another day.

63.5 degree headtube angle
1244mm wheelbase
74.25 seattube angle

33 lbs and 13 ounces

Rode last night in the dark and I’m really wanting to rip into this in the daylight. Sadly going to have to wait till the weekend before that will happen. A few more night rides till I’ll be able to ride it in the daylight.

Haven’t had good light to take any good pictures. Also I haven’t had a chance to ride in the light; 2 night rides in a row. No snow as of yet.

Nice. I had a -2deg Works headset on my hardtail for several years and it was and still is perfectly solid.
