Go Pro Hero TLD D2 comp

TLD D2 Comp, Go Pro and SPY. (can't remember the Spy model)

Btw, some friendly advice needed here: the helmet is an '05 model, but in the last 10 years (!) has only been worn regularly, for a maximum 2/3 seasons in total over that period. All my gear remained out of use for several years, and was kept clean and stored inside at all times in its life. I'm not a racer, and I've fortunately NEVER had any serious accidents involving my head wearing it. So, anything to worry about in terms of its longevity as a piece of kit? Any thoughts welcome.

Wow that thing is clean for a one season old helmet let alone 10 years. If it has never had any significant impacts and has been stored in a dry place out of the elements like you said I would not be too concerned about its integrity. I would feel better about wearing that than many new helmets on the market.

Generally the foam stuff inside breaks down after a few years and becomes quite brittle, meaning no absorbing etc in a crash so be cautious

If it were sitting in a garage or a shed where it was experiencing significant variations in temperature and possible exposure to moisture or sunlight I might be a little hesitant to use it. But stored inside at fairly constant temperature I would not expect the materials to degrade significantly. Especially if it was in a bag or case.

Cheers, for that. I take good care of my gear and try to afford the best I can at the time. Don't get me wrong, I value my safety in this risky sport, and wouldn't in principle reject spending on a new lid but 2015 is the first year (in many years) that I'm committing to get out in the hils as much as I can- so as much as id like a Bell Full 9/Rampage Pro or D3... I can't justify that at the time of writing. I know that's a contradiction but Im sure you can see where I'm coming from generally. More importantly though... Does it still look sick? Wink

Guys,

I'm looking into new goggles with a $30-$50 dollar budget and am considering these two:

Smith Fuel v.2 with blackout lense for $30usd which seem like a good deal, but I think they tend to run small on the face which I don't like.

Oakley Mayhem with dark gray lense for $50usd. They're pretty much what I'm looking for, lots of visual clearance, but are they really worth $20 bucks more than the Smith's? Not a fan of the color scheme though but don't really care. I'm kind of on a tight budget and I'm also getting lots of other shit.

The smiths definitely are a bit smaller in terms of peripheral vision. I would suggest looking to finder some cheap scott tyrants. I'm sure you could find them for below $50. They are amazing goggles.

@ethan991 I own some older Scott Voltage that have lasted me three seasons of biking. Scott definitely makes some rad goggles. But I wanna try somthing new, hopefully highend and on sale. Motocrossgiant has some sweet deals at the moment and that's where I'm checking out goggles

You can find 100% ACCURI goggles for 50 or below on amazon
