Ban the Berms? – Opinion
This article sucked, for many reasons. #1: Rail every berm like a pro and then maybe I'll let you go on about how they're so easy and they do all the work for you. Point is, you can probably ride the "boring" berms your talking about faster, you can't call a berm easy until you've truly maxed out and ripped that thing a new one. #2 why is this opinion series always picking the weirdest most out of touch shit to talk about. I ride many trails that barely have a berm much less a little rut or anything to rail around corners with. Thirdly, the writing style is cringy. Your analogies suck and wtf why are you talking about lizard people? It sounds like you had one paragraph and then really stretched it to make it an article. This could all be condensed into "sometimes berms are built to make hard corners easier for everyone" in which case most of pinkbike would agree that taming down trails is lame. Oh wait, but then you wouldn't have an article

Mr Wolf Banger Tire Insert - First Ride
@Schlafmutzli: actually carbon is better at dampening vibration opposed to aluminum. Many aluminium road bikes spec a carbon fork and handlebars for this very reason. my enve handlebars did make a noticeable difference as opposed to my spank spike alu. bars.

Gravity Logic Built, US East Coast Bike Parks
@cptstoney: I'm not trying to have excuses to trash them, Bryce is a great beginner park...got nothing but love for the whole crew there, they know me by name. But the fact remains that they will not ever compete with the other east coast bike parks such as the ones in this article...there's a reason that it was not mentioned in the article even though it's 100% GL built. And I've gotta HEAVILY disagree, cooper and pickbleback at no point require more than 140mm travel to ride it to its full potential. I stopped brining my DH bike to Bryce in favor of my Fuel and even that was overkill at times. I'd love to know what feature your talking about that requires a DH bike.

@cptstoney: I mean that's cool and all but two new cork screws really doesn't vastly improve the park in any way. They major issues preventing them from becoming a well known/popular park are not fixable. The could have 20 corkscrewes for all i care, im looking for a proper DH race run and some long fun jump trails and yea thats pretty much what im saying, they are great for the beginner crowd, but anyone who is even semi competent is going to out grow the trails there. I think they'll probably be successful but they are never going to be in the same league as the other east coast bike parks mentioned above, even if GL built it.

@cptstoney: I'm not complaint about the amount of laps, 15+ is easy, I'm complaining about the ratio of lift time to ride time. The runs are 2 min. and for what they are it's not really worth it. Not to take away from what they've done, they were the first park I ever rode DH at and It's a great beginner place. I took my younger brother there one day, he has never even ridden cross country and barely rides a bike 10 times a year. He could do all the trails with the exception of the last steep part to jump section on copperhead. There needs to be more of a challenge which I can see they are trying to add but even then the fact is they will always be hampered by the tinnnyyy elevation and the lift speed.

@cptstoney: exactly why I also will not be going to massanuten. Idgaf why it's slow, I just don't like spending literally 80% of my time on the lift and 20% actually riding.
