I talked to the man who makes them, and the are expensive $$$, but they have better cornering and they grip like clipless without the shoe. they have a lower ride hight and more clearents. They go for 500 because you have to buy a crank set, bb, chain ring, and bash guard with them but they are very strong, and light he said that they are made for freeride and down hill, but can be used for trail riding. they will come out in a couple of weeks.
With no spindle going all of the way through, it seems like they're going to bend/snap really easy with all of the leverage you're going to be putting on the out side of the pedal.
ya I know a guy here in Laramie that rode them all season and said he never clipped them on any rocks or anything and they are super strong.
Thanks bud!
ya no prob. they taper as they go in towards the crank so they have a bunch of extra metal near the weak point and it's basically like riding without pedals since they are so thin, so they don't scrape. And I guess your feet don't slip at all because they have a bunch of pins
