So, I have a quite dentisty bike from a local shop. The frame was failing in less than a year and the shop looked at it and said, "That's a warranty repair!" They take the bike and tell me "There may be a service charge." It turns out the service charge is $225...for a warranty repair.

That doesn't seem right to me. Is it normal?

This is normal. The warranty is through the manufacturer. They are replacing the part for free but that doesn't cover the shops work they have to do.

That'll be for labor, the shop has to disassemble, send away and then reassemble. It's normal in most shops here in New Zealand.
