Hey there, I just got my new FOX 36 fork for mine Trek Slash 2019.
Since I ordered 170mm fork.. (and shaft for 160mm) Im wondering if i keep 170mm mounted.. am i going to mess Slash’s configuration and geometry? Or its valiable with 10mm higher?

Thanks in advance,
Lovel.

Try it and see what you think. Swapping air springs isn't horrible for modern forks.

IMO it would put the STA a bit on the slack side on a bike that already has a slack by modern standards seat tube angle, but if you look at the slash thread you'll find a bunch of folks running 170's. Depends what you prioritize, I really wouldn't worry about ruining the bike.

Edit - if you prefer a slightly softer front end then you'll sag that 10mm away anyway.

10 mm isn't that different, anything over 30ish mm I would say is a big no-no

Hi,
I was thinking about the same thing. Did you try it?
If yes did you switch it to the high position or let it in low?

im moving from 160 to 170, only reason with luftkappe it sucks near 10mm down anyway so a 170luftkappe keeps its correct numbers
