It does this with the wheel removed and the fork taken out of the frame. It works fine but u can kinda feel it and the noise will drive me insane. Its a 2nd hand bike 2019 model and isnt beat up and scratched so unsure if this is normal or not. I havent had a rock shox fork since my qudra 5s....back in the day as have been on manitou, marzoochi, magura and multiple fox forks so a bit out of touch with these. I have adjusted the rebound from slowest to fastes and it makes no difference.
Its as the fork extends at the start of this a slight clunk noise can be heard and felt. Its not load but seems like something is sticking at the start of the forks extension after compression. It does it at different levels of travel when it first starts to extend. Obviously a service would be a good idea but dont want to bother if this is "just a thing they do" i may just get another fox fork instead.
