Help wanted

So i have dt swiss 350 hubs and they had torque caps fitted. But i have a new 36s on th3 front so popped off the torque caps and the little internal bits that hold them in place and i have installed the boost caps.

So i tapped the little inner spacers in and there flush with the bearing and now here's the issue the end caps fall off easily a little grease keeps them in place but should they be more secure.

Secondly when i put my thru axle in my fork and try spin the wheel there really hard to spin.

What have i done wrong.

The brakes not fitted yet so it's not that.

Please help

Could be the middle and outer side faces of the bearing are both
being pressed against, and this is making the free rotation feel
very stiff, you need a small amount of space on the outer part of
the bearing side face and hard contact on the centre outside face,
as these are the lateral forces applied when doing up the fork axle,
if that makes sense ?

Hey so if I read correctly you took the caps off either side of the spacers on the outside of the hub? I am pretty sure these caps cover the outside face of the spacers adding to the total width of the hub. Have you replaced the spacers/endcaps with new or just removed the caps?

The spacers also have a shoulder on one end so that when they're assembled and the retaining ring pressed into the hub they shouldn't fall out.
