I wanted to see if I could get some recommendations for the best Lightweight wheelset I could put on a Santa Cruz 5010 that I just got. I want to upgrade from the standard set that comes with the base model, so I am looking for something durable yet more light weight. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks
I just found out about the Newmen Evolution SL A.30 wheels and I'm considering them to shave about 200gr from my current set. they're about 700 for the set and under 1700gr
He has made me a few 27.5 wheel sets with industry nine 32 hole hydra classic j bend spokes with Stan’s flow mk hoops for an unbeatable price! I have some older torch straight pulls that have an ungodly amount of hard miles on them too and I have to say you don’t want to go cheap on a wheel set (below 700 and you might want to save your hard earned cash, anything over 1000 and your waist if cash if your not racing or very serious.) I have a set of 2100 I9 pillars but I would get nervous riding these in supper chunk and rocky tech trails. Point being, I felt like I was taking a Maserati off road... just take the 4runner instead...
Pricy, but WeAreOne make bombproof rims. Just got a set with i9 hydras and I’m over the moon with them. That fast engagement from the hydras is a game changer for technical climbs where I have to ratchet from time to time.
