Is a DVO Jade coil shock still worth buying?

I am looking to upgrade to a coil shock on my bike which is incompatible with the Jade X. I am interested in getting a Jade as they have high and low speed damping, but I am wondering how whether they are outdated at this point.

How does the old Jade compare to newer coil shocks? Would it still give me a performance advantage over current air shocks?

Tbh mate, any coil shock performs well, even the cheap Marzocchi ones based on a 15 year design. If you can get a Jade for a good price go for it. If you want the best of the best get EXT or PUSH 11/6 only because they are custom tuned to you and your bike. The other expensive off the shelf shocks are not really worth what they cost.

Still waiting on my Jade due to some manufacturing delays. Otherwise I'd love to tell you how it performs! I should be getting it sometime this month so I can update if you're willing to wait.

The internals of the Jade are very tried and true. Shim stacks perform great. It's the same basic design that's worked excellent in dirtbike suspension for decades now. I can't help but feel like Fox and RS just release something "new" every year just because that's what sells.
