But this isnt really a CVT, more emulating one in a not so efficient way. It is essentially 1 motor connected to the highest gear and 1 to the lowest and both alter power outputs to try give a combination in between. A true CVT is far more efficient as you only need 1 motor and can use maximum power in any gear ratio, you cant in this design as the motor when powering the high gear will be at max effort and the motor connected to tge low gear will be at almost no effort when at higher speeds, you have 2 motors but max power at most moments will only be a bit more than 1 motor. In a way its a fine solution on an e bike if total power is 1000 watts as stated as it is still sufficient but its still a cheat way of doing it and would be a terrible idea in vehicles. Literally would be like having a car with 2 engines but only 1 does most of the work most of the time or both do half the work at a time.

I'm in support of the bike but find it funny how Geometron and Chris Porter are now providing this when a few years back I was in the process of choosing a new bike and contacting him, deciding between this, a Zerode gearbox equipped bike and a few others..all I got was how the Geometron is superior and how the gearboxes are not good enough atm, too much drag and the unsprung mass won't make much difference, how carbon bikes are bad bla bla bla and how all other bikes basically suck in comparison to the derailleur equipped Geometron. Then here we are a few years later, he's putting a Pinion gearbox on just like Zerode, ok now with electronic shifting but otherwise pretty much the same. Paul Aston starting exploring Carbon and other alloy bikes again and loving them having come from a Geometron. The way I was talked to just wanting an honest conversation about the pros and cons of different bikes and pushed a certain agenda only for that to have been gone back on a few years later is just laughable. Having read reviews on bikes, talked to people and having actually tried bikes I can say for certain you can never be sure what you are getting unless you actually ride the thing, I would never purchase another bike again without actually riding it because everything else just seems like hot air.

@PJ95: Trickstuff of course are great brakes but it doesn't mean they are 3x the brake of something else like Hope V4 that is also made in a country known for its invention and engineering prowess but 3X cheaper. In any case these days where it is made or the company headquarters origin country doesn't necessarily always mean better either. Look at Bosch, DeWalt and Milwaukee in the power tools segment, I'm that order from lowest to highest rated, Milwaukee now being a Chinese owned company and manufactured in China. Taiwan, the largest semiconductor manufacturer. These days you can get just as much precision or better on a Chinese CNC machine than on a 1950s Lathe or milling machine etc in some small workshop where people are making stuff in small quantities in the west. Again not saying Trickstuff are bad, they are great, but disproportionately priced simply due to their much less cost efficient production processes. Not to mention Enduro MTB, a German magazine rated Hope V4's higher in power output than Maximas, and that whether true or not, having owned V4's I can say that the Chinese Shigura setup is even more powerful still and can be built less than a few hundred quid.

@thenotoriousmic: I understand but my experience with ODI dreadlocks which happen to be lock on and not push on are actually a lot more comfortable, softer and damped than their cheaper push on alternatives like the vapour and F1 made out of supposedly the same material. I think thickness of the grip, total padding and compound makes a more noticeable difference than just if it is push on or not. I challenge anyone to buy the Dreadlocks and compare to ODI push ons and I'm willing to bet they will find them more comfortable. ESI are supposedly very comfy due to being push on and larger but then again I've ready multiple people say the silicone is just way to firm so are not as damped as you might expect...my next grip to try will the ODI D3O Vanquish grips, falling them been good I will probably just stick with Dreadlocks going forwards as no grip has been as comfortable or as tacky as those so far, especially in wet without gloves.

I wonder automatically assume because a grip is push on it is more comfortable...most comfortable grip I tried by far atm is the ODI Dreadlock...the Vapour being made of the same compound was push on, way harder to push on and no where even close to as comfortable, not even as comfortable as an Ergon GFR1

@toast2266: meh, they are charging 1/3 to half the price of some new cars and the same price as a used Audi or BMW for just a basic bicycle with magnitudes less components, development costs and materials, I'm sure they are making more profits per unit than we think.

@Shannyla: I don't get why anyone gives crap how rich anyone else is anyway..if some dude drives past in a Porsche or whatever I might admire the car and be like that's a nice car and that's about it...I don't give a crap who is sitting behind the wheel or how much money he has. I know plenty of intelligent skilled decent people on low pay and rich people or managers that have the iq of a baboon, wealth doesn't impress me in the slightest. What's so impressive about some dentist grabbing a sharp implement and gouging your tooth out and getting 1k for it? A monkey could do that...same for many other jobs, wealth isn't an indicator of capability or intelligence and likewise things you own aren't also always an indicator of wealth either...for all you know that guy rolling in his Porsche might have come into 300k inheritance...who gives a crap...and if he did work hard, is decent person and set up his own business or whatever then fair play to him, he deserves it.

Anyone can take a loan or finance, I wouldn't always use what people own as an indicator of wealth... I've seen Ferrari f430's, Aston Martins and Dodge Challengers parked in the driveways or outside council houses I'm some of the more deprived areas of the country. Meanwhile I know people who are very well off and drive conventional cars some even old bangers. An Aston Martin can be had less than 30k on Autotrader, a yeti sb150 around 2.5 on Ebay, an older generation Range Rover less than 10k, anyone can 'look' rich...especially if they don't manage their finances in a sensible manner, taking credits left right and centre, 50k in debt and living in a house provided to them by the council.
