15x110 QR or Kabolt ?

What would you guys rather have, a 15x110 quick release or a Kabolt in the same size?

My new Trance was spec'd with a QR but came with a Kabolt. I kinda wanted the QR because i keep my bike inside my car and take the front wheel off to do so. Should i be happy with the Kabolt. Is it better than a QR. I see from ebay that a QR is about $70 and a Kabolt is about $50.
I just find the QR more convenient.

QR on a thru axle hasn't been good to me. They all have some type of issue. They also get hung up on stuff. My previous stumpjumper had one on the rear and it was constantly picking up sticks or brush. I also had one on the fork and it went bye bye.

I like the simplicity and cleanliness of just a regular bolt on thru axle.

If this is for your fork, RS sells them as "Maxle Lite" or something to that effect.

It's personal preference, but I have Kabolts or other brand's equivalents in all of my forks and rear thru axles. I like the simplicity of it, and I keep a 5mm and 6mm allen wrench on all of my bikes, so it doesn't really make wheel removal any harder or slower. It's actually probably faster than half of the QR thru-axles out there, and definitely more reliable than some of the faster options. (I'm looking at you, Focus!)

If you want a QR, I suggest posting in Pinkbike BuySell and on your local Craigslist. I guarantee you'll find someone who has a compatible QR that they've swapped out for a Kabolt, and would be happy to get some cash for. I wouldn't pay more than $35 CAD.

Kabolt is cleaner and lighter i think. You put right sized Allen key permanently to trunk of your car to avoid forgetting the tool.
