Just get the DRS. It should work. But first find out what type of mounting options you have. BB mount, ISCG ISCG '05?

if you order an e13 for the isgg old style the chainguide comes with an adapter in the box to put on your bb

so the LG-1 doesnt use a bashguard?

If you don't have the ISCG mounts and are going to buy a DRS you need the Old ISCG backplate. For any other chainguide you're ok with any because they're supplied with adaptors. If I was you I'd keep the dual ring and get a DRS, unless you do DH, then it's either the SRS or LG1, SRS has a bash, LG1 hasn't.

08 versions have a taco whats half a bashguard and mounts on the bottom

most e13's have mounting points for these taco style bash guards and now you can buy the guard at your local lbs
