Hello all!

Haven't been able to find a definitive answer searching forums or Shimano's site. I inherited a 3x10 groupset and would like to set it up as a 1x using an 11-46 cassette. I am thinking 30t n/w where the center chainring currently is.

This derailleur (SLX M7000 Shadow RD+) seems to already have something similar to a Goal Link installed by Shimano.

Does anyone have experience setting this up with an 11-46 cassette? I know it'll take a 42t, but would appreciate the extra range for some loaded bike packing.

I have the same Shimano M7000 derailleur on a 1x11 with a 30t chainring and a 42t cassette fitted now but am going to fit a 46t cassette sometime in the future.

This derailleur has capacity for a 42t max low sprocket on a 2x drivetrain.

The same derailleur has the capacity for a 46t max low sprocket on a 1x drivetrain.
