I mostly ride dirt jumps/freeride type stuff and have been starting to progress a bit, I'm not hitting anything huge, but recently I've been having more of those moments when you land and your bike sounds like a shopping cart. I feel like I do a pretty good job maintaining my bike, but just in case, is there anything in specific I should avoid doing/parts I should keep an eye on that are common points of failure and should avoid putting extra stress on?

Your frame for one lol. Try both wheels at the same time. Keep those spokes TIGHT. And your fork pressured high if your doing jumps. Also I would jump an entry level hardtail. I rarely jump unless it's on the trail and i dont have to think about it. If you found what you like doing biking then sell that hardtail and get a dirt jumper!
