Hey all,

I've got a deposit on a fat bike for 2021 (fingers crossed its not 2022...) and I currently own a Thule T2 XT 2 Pro rack from 2017. I checked the description of the rack and it stated that it fit tires up to 5 inches but on some websites it says that it does not support 27.5inch fat bike tires. The new XTR Thule apparently fits ALL tire sizes.

Does anyone have a this rack AND a 27.5 fat bike with 4.5 inch tires they can fit on it? I really don't want the new fat bikes to also mean a new rack as well! If anyone can confirm that this rack works with fatties, I'd appreciate it.

I have one and use it for a farley 7 with 27.5 x 4.5 and works great. You'll need to extend the tire straps. Just google how to do that, super easy.

You can fit 27.5 x 4.5. As mentioned you need to remove the strap and re route it to accommodate wider rims and tires. It can get tight with some rims and tire combos but still does all the fat bikes.

Edit looked at the date lol that got bumped. Hope it worked out for you anyway

Lol it did! Thanks. I finally got some fat bikes this year and extended the straps. Easy peasy. Shame Thule doesn’t make this info easy to find… all of the rack websites are fuming with angry customers who can’t fit their fat bikes because of short straps lol.

its so easy to figure out, no need for longer straps just need to re-route them et voila. got my two fatties on with 4.5'' tires no problem
