I guess time has come and pushed my luck for 30 years now without them. I'm thinking of getting knee pads. I want something that holds well in place for 2h + rides. I want something that is as little restrictive as possible to pedal. I ride mostly XC- Trails here on the east coast, not much jumping for me other than the occasional jumps.

What are your suggestions ?

I have the RaceFace Charge for similar ridding. Once you get used to them you don't notice they are there except for very hot days.

Its just a soft pad so it wont prevent a major injury but it will take the "sting" out of most falls.

I wear 7iDP pads for long rides - hardly know they are there. I want to say they are Transition pads. Sam Hill Lites look pretty good too.

Leatt Airflow Pros are nice for light protection, even in warm weather.
