Does anyone know the steering tube length on a stock Kona process 134 fork.
27.5 base model.
Looking to upgrade the fork. just haven’t taken it off the bike yet.
Trying to figure out the steering to length

Fairly easy calculation to find the min steer tube you would want to purchase and can always cut to preference. The HT length on those bikes range from 116-160mm dependant on frame size. Also have a 16.2mm top cap on the headset. Add ~50mm for stem and ~30 for spacers. Should get you a ball park.

You can also just measure with a tape measure from the bottom of your lower headset cut (top of fork crown) to the top of your stem cap, then subtract 3 or 4mm since the steerer needs to be a bit shorter for the stem cap to compress everything. You likely also have a few spacers that you can add or subtract, better to err a bit longer of course.

Hey. Did you get any advice on this at all .
I have a 29er and swapped all my old parts off my Merida 140. Including the 27.5 wheels I've got some 29es on the way but wanted to know if putting the smaller wheels on would effect the ride at all?

Changing wheel size always affects the geometry, unless you're using 29" and 27.5" tires with the exact same diameter (would have to be a 27.5 Plus tire, basically).

To determine exactly how the geometry changes is a matter of basic trigonometry. But if you're literally changing two 29" wheels for two 27.5" wheels without changing the fork or anything else, you're just lowering the whole bike by the difference in radii of the two tires.

So basically I have just bought a Prosess 134 29 frame.... I already owned a Merida 140 27.5 with practicaly new ZEB ultimates 27.5 that I love so don't want to loose if possible. I have put the 27.5 wheels and forks on the Kona .....

The zebs are 160mm. And no 140 like standard on the 134 and with the 27.5 wheels the bottom bracket sits just 7mm lower than it should obviously with a slightly slacker head tube angel.... not to worried about the changes.....but..... I have purchased a 29 wheel set.... (Raceface AR 30s) their sweet!
The front come with a maxxis minion dhf 2.5 so bulky tread , I tried fitting it to the zebs and it's very very slightly skimming the fork arch.
I'm convinced that if I fit a lower tread tire like the minion ss in a 2.3 it will fit with around 4-5mm .
So I suppose what I'm asking is , would it be ok to run like this? .... 29er wheel in 27.5 fork with very little clearance? I suppose it would also compensate slightly for the longer travel fork??

Let all the air out of the fork and squish it all the way down. Keep letting air out as you compress it. It will probably come uncomfortably close to the tire touching the fork crown or the downtube. If they actually make contact, that represents an endo happening at the worst possible moment.

This is a risk I wouldn't take.
