Hello everyone,

This is my first post so I'll do my best to respect the rules Smile

I currently have a rotor crankset (InPower, one sided option) that I would like to keep for my next bike (as you might have guessed the new Scott Spark RC) and I wanted to check the compatibility. What I know so far :
- right now my crankset is on my Cannondale Trigger with a BB30, the spindle is 30mm (https://www.bike24.com/p2295498.html)
- the new Spark comes with PF92 and a 28.99mm spindle

So my guess is that I would need a different BB (a PF92 that takes 30mm spindle), but my real problem is the width of the crankset : I'm not sure the rotor is wide enough to fit into the body of the Spark.

Any help on this topic is more than welcome

Check the bb she’ll on the cannondale against the spark. Also if using a 30mm crank on a PF92 frame ( not ideal as most would agree due to bearing size). Check the enduro 30mm ceramic press in bearings. They forgo the traditional bb cup and bearings press straight into frame. Expensive but I have had good luck with that set up.

I had a rotor inpower on my 2019 Spark RC WC and bought another spark that had the dub crankset in. Went to swap cranksets and the rotor setup on my 'old' spark, the previous owner took out the plastic dust caps on the bearings (they kind of sit inside the bearing - impossible to remove, even more impossible to put back in, had more traditional rubbery dust caps, some spacers and the crankset in.

The new spark (still a 2019), or maybe it's a 2020, I can't remember, has the dub pf bottom bracket with the plastic dust caps install, the outside spacers, and that's it.

If you remove those plastic dust camps, you should get the rotor crankset in there. Then use some spacers.

I ordered a spark that has arrived and needed a shorter crank. The large comes w 175 mm. I’m an older rider and am on 170s for mtb as it spares a lot of aching in knees…so the shop ordered a new crank. The pdk from scot is an 8 bolt set up. They sent a 3 bolt set up apparently only 8 bolts come oem. So to fit spindle had to go w quarq as right full crankset super back. ordered. BUT, the new crank would not fit the width of the bb. Apparently it’s something called super boost. I’ve never heard of it. Still don’t have bike cuz right set up is still back ordered and race day is 2 weeks away. So, sell your current power meter setup on craigslist and get on that will fit the scott. Alternatively you could check out BBinfinite. They might have something that could work

@jasonvpb - This is completely dependent upon what model Spark RC you have. All models EXCEPT the RC Pro will have SRAM cranks If that's the case, this will be helpful. The (RC Pro for some reason) uses RaceFace cranks and this info won't apply.

What you need for that bike is a SRAM DUB crank, but in the MTB Wide variant. I just went through this with my new spark 920. It's not super boost, but has a wider q-factor than normal due to a longer spindle. In a nutshell, the Spark is normal boost 148, but uses a 55mm chainline instead of a 52mm chainline which most boost bikes use. SRAM has these cranks available in on the GX and also the XO1. The DUB spindle will say "Wide" right on the spindle. I just got the XO1 from Backcountry in the 170mm length. When you install it, you will need the 5mm spacer on the drive side and the 3mm spacer on the non-drive side. Keep the stock DUB bottom bracket. https://www.backcountry.com/sram-x01-eagle-dub-crankset-mtb-wide

If you have the RC Pro, you can still move to the DUB cranks mentioned, but you will also need a DUB PF92 BB to go with it. And you will also need the 5mm and 3mm DUB spacers. Hope that helps!

Hi @ecod33, I apologize for necro'ing an old thread. If you happen to see this you might be able to help clarify something for me.

I've got a Scott Spark 950 I bought secondhand. The previous owner balled out and put Cane Creek eeWings on it. I'm hoping to take these off and sell as they are too blingy of a crank for me and would be better suited funding other bike projects. I'd like to do as seamless of a crank swap as possible (especially as these are PF frames).

What I'm trying to understand is what kind of cranks will be compatible. I know all sorts of cranks come in 30mm spindles, and some even specify compatibility with bb92 standard. I get a little bit thrown off by the fact that these are wide with a 55mm chainline. What it sounds like from your comment is that there is room for a standard mtb crankset as long as the right offset chainring is used to maintain clearance and chainline. For instance would a RF crank with a 136x30mm spindle be a suitable choice? Thanks!

I have a 2022 Spark RC SL EVO it has the QUARQ power meter (drive side spider) 4 bolt 104BCD XX1 SRAM crank arms.

Just wondering what good options for new bottom bracket are? I’m getting a new frame and If it’s not crazy spendy might go ceramic. I just need everything to work as is the crankset and power meter with the 55mm chain line.

Anyone have suggestions here’s what it’s showing: SRAM DUB PF 92 MTB Wide / shell 41x92mm
That’s stock spec with this setup should I just stick to standard DUB press fit or anything that’s a major improvement that you’d recommend?
