Hey all. I recently picked up this 1993 Giant Acapulco. It is mostly original. The saddle and front wheel have been replaced, but it is otherwise all original. It was slated to be scrapped, but I managed to rescue it. There are a few minor scratches but otherwise, the finish is almost like new. It even has that very 90's black spider-web on red paint. I am not sure what I wanna do with it yet. Maybe a gravel bike, maybe just leave it as is.
If your planning on riding as is, then I suggest you sort the front brake cable setup, as that hook type is bad, if the pull cable fails that cross over cable will drop into the tyre knobs and if your going fast enough, it will lock the front up, rip your cromoly forks backwards and you will fly in slow mo for sure, I know Ive done it, back in the day they brought out a little thing called a rhino horn, it bolted through the hole on the fork and prevented the aforementioned from happening.
