call me whatever but I've decided to mullet my optic, I believe it will make a great super short trail ripper, 27.5 out back with a 130mm fork...let's bring the carnage
keep you all posted on my either great idea or complete waste of time

I'd keep the fork at 140mm and run a reverse angle headset to keep the head angle, BB height and reach changes minimal. An 18mm drop in rear wheel radius is quite big and losing another 10mm of a2c might be a little much. That said, have fun experimenting and oh here's a thing for you to play with
so far 1 ride in, on a very slow and super steep technical trail, rails the turns like a go cart, descends and climbs just like before but I would say way more planted, have to liven up the rear end and it will be perfect. it's set at 130mm front 29inch with 125mm rear 27.5inch with a ridiculously low bb, no pedal strikes...
I was thinking the same thing ! but keep the 140mm up front. Might even would go to 27.5 to throw it around the jibby trails around my area. Sick build !
I slapped a 27.5" under my rear yesterday with no other changes and I'd say overall I like it a lot. Essentially feels like a firmer, lighter, snappier version of my patrol. Less bum tags, slightly slacker angle feels better for high speed flow trails. With dual 29s I could never get the full commitment drift/lean like my other rig, this feels a lot closer. If I was going on some long XC mish I'll put the 29" back on.
Just put 27.5 on the rear of my large for the last few rides. Super fun, may drop the stack a little bit. Running 165 cranks and getting some pedal strikes but not bad. Really fun throwing it into corners. Does get hung up quite a bit more but that’s unavoidable. Probably best for loamy or flowy trails if there was going to be a real purpose for this machine. Still going to run 29 in the rear sometimes
