Story for Intense M16 raw aluminum frames?

I just bought what is claimed to be a 2017 Intense M16 size L raw aluminum frame off craigslist. I have seen raw bikes before but this one is actually raw -- no clear coat or anything else I can detect to protect the frame. It's got stickers applied (presumably from the factory) and otherwise seems to match photos online. I was a little concerned that it was a counterfeit but if it is, it seems like a really good one.

Was anybody around when these were being sold originally? All the reviews/photos from the era have painted frames, no raw ones. I have found a couple of old listings in the buy/sell that have the raw frame but no story there either.

Any thoughts on the frame otherwise?

Got reply from someone in buy/sell who had previously sold one and he said they sold a bunch like this. Going to build it up and hope for the best.

That thing is a piece of art! Can't wait to see it built. Nice find!

Thanks. I’ll post up some photos. I have a bomber 58 fork but the offset is 9mm more than recommended by intense. Hopefully it won’t suck!

I have a slopestyle 2 and had an older spider, both raw. That’s a factory finish (and my fav)
You can run a works -7mm headset in that frame and get the offset too close for most mortals to tell. Trail is a good thing

Thanks, I have been riding it with the bomber 58 and it rides great so no worries anymore.
