Can MTB Brakes Stop a Honda Fit? We Tested 10 Four-Piston MTB Brakes
Just wanted to say thanks for all the brake reviews. And thanks for posting multiple per day instead of milking it for weeks. It’s obvious a lot of effort went into this series and I appreciate it.

The NW Cup Announces 2025 Race Schedule
Last summer I was visiting family in the area and a friend of mine invited me to take over his wife's race entry to one of the Port Angeles / Dry Hill races. I have been riding mountain bikes for a long time but I've never raced. With some trepidation I accepted and I showed up with the bike I had had with me -- a Stumpjumper EVO. I signed up for the easiest class and in one of the "old guy" age groups. I was surprised when we were shuttled to the top in the back of enclosed box trucks. The race was well organized and the track was a blast! The whole atmosphere was positive and although I didn't do very well, I really valued the experience and I would recommend it to _anyone_ who is comfortable riding a mountain bike. It really is a fun way to spend a weekend, and it wasn't too expensive. I also entered the Silver Mountain leg which was on a couple of trails I was very familiar with. And on a proper DH bike. It was really a whole different experience trying to ride those trails FAST. I don't know how to describe it other than that I was nervous and my heart was racing just dropping in on trails that I have done probably 40 times before. I placed only a tiny bit better that time but it didn't matter, it was still a great experience.

Details Announced for ITRS - 'A Standardized Trail Rating System for a Safer, More Accessible Mountain Biking Experience'
Thanks for the link to the graphic. This should be front and center in the article and when you land on this company’s page. I went through a bunch of pages trying to figure out what the system was and kept getting linked to the paid training page.

A whole lot of words but no examples of what the ratings even look like? Mandatory training in one of the most expensive countries in the world? Requires an app? Over 1000 euros for training and 1 year access to the app. Special license/copyright terms to use the system. Seems like a for-profit venture. Pass.

Transition Spire Carbon GX Large

$2999 USD
For sale is a size Large 2022 Transition Spire GX Carbon 29 in color primer gray. This bike is in excellent mechanical condition with only 10-12 rides on it. Has original tires (set up tubeless) which have never been taken off so it's easy to see it hasn't seen much riding. Full specs can be found here: https://www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/bikes/transition/spire-27526 Highlights: 170mm travel front (Zeb Ultimate fork) 170mm rear (Super Deluxe Ultimate Air shock) SRAM UDH flip chip to make it even slacker GX eagle 12 speed drivetrain Code RSC brakes in perfect condition OneUp V2 dropper post + lever Includes accessory box that came with the bike -- extra set of brand new grips, cable clips, derailleur b tension gauge, literature, reflectors, etc. I bought this bike with the intention to replace a DH bike and an Enduro bike but in the end decided I liked the dh bike better, so this bike hasn't gotten much use. There are a few cosmetic issues, can be seen clearly in the attached photos: heel rub marks on the chain stays paint rub center of top tube, no idea how this happened paint chip front head tube -- caused by me not being careful enough loading it into a 1up rack and the grip on the next bike over chipped it I have factory/Transition touch up paint included in the sale, never opened, never used, just bought it with the intention of trying to fix the head tube chip but never tried. Pedals in photos not included. I have some cheapo plastic ones I can put on if you want them (would not recommend using them on real mountain bike trails, though). Price is OBO, make offer, cash talks. Local sales only, please

Shimano M9000 11 speed derailleur and shifter

$100 USD
For sale Shimano M9000 XTR 11 speed rear derailleur and shifter. Excellent condition, working perfectly, no issues. Upgraded to a 12sp. This was off a bike that had from factory a 9-46T cassette (shown in photos - you can have it if you want but some of the cogs are worn out). The shifter allows multi-shift up (to harder gear) which is super nice (also down but pretty much all non-e-bike shifters allow multi-shift down). RD-M9000 - derailleur SL-M9000 - shifter $100 obo for the set.
